I have maintained this car as necessary and have bills and receipts to prove, my local garage know it well, its MOTed until NOV 12, has just passed 100,000 miles and I am the fifth owner.
BAD POINTS
Interior; there is a hole in the leather on the steering wheel and the CD player isn’t working
Exterior; alloys need a re-furb ,no proper rust but minor scabs on the rear arch and under-paint bubbling on the bootlid as per the photos, the spoiler has some scuffs and scrapes so would benefit from a re-furb, the car is now also due a service
In spite of the abovementioned faults this is still a much admired car, the interior (above-mentioned faults aside) is in very good condition and still a nicely appointed and pleasant place to be, and although the bobywork is not mint it is solid. Similar cars most with much higher milage are advertised for around 5k, I am pricing this one very realistically to sell at £3695 ono which makes an M3 look very expensive.
Gary Holmes
Lancashire

presented by owner M. I have owned this car for a few months but I am just not getting on with it. It needs bits of attention and if i’m honest, i’m not sure I have the time or inclination to do it myself, so i would rather move the car on to someone who will lavish a little more time on the car. The car is a 2000 X-reg based originally on an E46 328. It has then had the Alpina treatment, which anyone who knows their cars means the engine is upgraded to 3.3L, the interior is completely stripped and Alpina interior added, new alloys, bodywork etc. This car is No 207. I had an Insp 2 service carried out by a reputable BMW specialist during early July. The service revealed a few issues, mostly mechanical, some of which I have sorted myself, some that need doing still. The big items that need doing are as follows:
-Poor handbrake
-All springs are rusty but none are damaged
-Air bag light on
-Front pads worn and disc rusty but not worn
-Main diff bush worn
-Parking sensors not working.
The biggest job on here will be the main diff bush, as I understand this requires a special tool.
Other issues which have niggled me are that the CD changer doesn’t work. I have pulled it all out, fettled with it, but it still won’t work. The r/o/s window mechanism has failed. I have a repair kit on order which should rectify the problem prior to sale. This is a common problem with the E46 BMW.
Body wise, there are areas of rust just beginning to appear on the rear arches, rust around the boot badge and general scratches to the bodywork which need going over.
The interior is near spotless other than an area on the steering wheel where a steering wheel lock has been used and worn the leather thin in one area, which has then split. The seats are all Alpina badged and the car has genuine Alpina floor mats with their blue and green stitching.

Performance wise it pulls like a train but is a very relaxing drive as an Alpina should be. The auto box encourages you to waft along, but stick it into semi-auto mode and you can hold onto the revs longer and the driver can decide when to change gear!

The car has Tax until end of May 2012 and MOT until 9th Nov 2012.

This car is a good car but with some time and effort, it could be a great car and pushing towards double what I am hoping to get for it. All the genuine Alpina parts are there, which is a big bonus. This would be great for an enthusiast or someone in the trade or with friends in the trade who can turn it round quicker and probably cheaper then I can.
monstervx220
Ellesmere Port

No tax since 11/7/2016
No MOT since 10/7/2017
Not exported

Assumed dismantled

Assumed FK88050 mentioned by owner John Atkinson on fastsaloons.com 3/2007: “This is a dream car for me.
