\n“We bought this vehicle with the intent of either restoring it or converting it into a one-off trackday car. The car has had new sills, wings, bonnet, doors and rear wheelarches. This work was carried out before we bought it and the whole car has been primed and ready for painting. Mechanically, everything is there although the engine is not currently running. This is down to a fuelling problem, either the pump itself or the wiring to the pump is faulty. Compression is good on all the cylinders, so the engine itself seems to be in good order. No fuel is coming to the inlet despite there being plenty in the tank.This was the first thing we checked when we purchased the vehicle to make sure nothing was majorly faulty within the engine. Obviously there is still quite a bit of work to be done as there is no interior (bar the dash and Alpina clocks)and the bumpers and spoilers are all missing. These had been allegedly “stolen” when all the work was being carried out on the bodywork. More than likely they were sold on as the genuine Alpina bits are obviously sought after. The 20 spoke 16″ Alpina wheels are in generally good condition and worth quite a bit of money on their own. We have owned the vehicle for 6 months now and although our intentions were good when we purchased it, in all likelyhood its likely to sit around for years before we get the chance to spend any time to finish it. The wheels and clocks are probably worth the starting bid alone and we will NOT be selling any bits seperately, so please dont ask.”

\nHere for sale is my Sytner built C1 2.3 Alpina number 59 (I have a fax to the previous owner from Sytner stating this).
\nI have owned the car for nearly one year, prior to this it had been stored since 2010.
\nThe car has the correct original front spoiler\/ Alpina gear nob\/ Alpina steering wheel\/ genuine build plaque no.59\/ genuine Alpina wheels – in great condition with tyres nearly new\/ genuine brand new locks for centre caps with 4 keys\/ LSD \/ Alpina clocks\/ M-Tech 1 rear spoiler and bumper\/ full original tool kit.
\nFor the MOT I had to fit new brake pipes and do a bit of welding on the floor (floors are quite solid, but have had a lot of patching over the years as you would expect for a 30 year old car.)
\nThe car originally came from the factory as Polaris Silver, somebody, a long time ago, painted it (I’m pretty sure) Alpina Green, which suits the car very well, although I wouldn’t have done it! The paint job is not bad, but not the best; it has some rust bubbling, probably where they had some water in the primer, to the rear quarter. There is a small amount of rust under the front near side indicator to the wing, surface rust only – solid enough. The near side front chrome bumper piece has a rust hole underneath, although you can’t see it unless you look underneath. The front spoiler is a slightly different colour. The front wings and bonnet do not line up perfectly (I don’t think it’s been crashed, rather just not fitted properly). There is some rust bubbling to the rear of the sunroof. The bodywork has usual the stonechips and scratches, not too bad. The rear spare wheel well has been patched by the previous owner, solid enough to pass the MOT. Overall from a couple of metres away the car looks really good, it is only when you look closely that you see the imperfections.(I’m probably being a bit hard on it for a 30 year old car, but I’m used to really clean cars!)
\nThe interior is in very good condition, with green leather with black piping ( sound horrible – but really nice!) it has the original Alpina steering wheel, gear nob and plaque. I have fitted a new, separate water temperature gauge because the original packed up and I didn’t want to start ripping the gauges apart, the new one works spot on. It has Alpine CD stereo. Two of the seat belts could do with replacing (cheap enough on eBay).
\nThe engine in the car is a2.3l standard engine with, I believe, the original Alpina head and cam. I do have the original block, which has c1 stamped on it and the correct engine number, matching the car chassis number. The previous owner said that it needed a re-bore due to scoring on the bore (I used to be an engine builder and personally think it will just hone out). The block also has the main caps missing, my plan was to put the original block back in, using all the parts out of the other engine; putting it back to how it should have been – I will still do this if it doesn’t sell for what I want. The exhaust back box needs replacing.
\nThe car is very fast; due to the car being cammed, when it hits 3500 revs it is like a racing car! Great fun to drive.

\nThe car has a Cobra immobiliser fitted for insurance, insurance is \u00a3120 per year on Classic.
\nOverall the car has a few faults (but it is nearly 30 years-old), everywhere you go people look and point. Really cool car.
\nI have been really critical of the car here, but the best thing you can do is come and have a look.
\nSelling as I fancy a change, something a bit newer and more practical. But, if it doesn’t sell I’m going get all the little jobs done, respray it silver and hang on to it.
\nThe parts on the car, as you will know, are worth a considerable amount of money so please don’t waste time offering me \u00a31000!
