First of all, thank you very much for the flowers and , in deed a B6 3.5S has something mystical. In living appreciating the Alpina Mythos the B6 3.5S caught me. I was never interested in Alpinas before or after the E30 E32 or E34, especially the E30. I have had C1 2.3, B3 2.7, B6 2.8, B6 3.5, B6 3.6S. The first B6 3.5S was No.29, i bought it from a Turkish guy in Mannheim which more or less raped the B6S with lowered 60mm KW springs, 9Jx16″ wheels, partly 9J/10Jx18″ wheels, 280mm steering wheel, black covered side and rear windows, painted from original grey to turquoise and later to shiny ferrari yellow, than somebody broke into the car and: the rear seats, the Alpina Digital VDO Amatures, Alpina Gear stick knob were stolen and finally the car have had a little accident on the front left side in winter. I bought this car, repaired and rebuilt it so far, except the colour, this would habve been the next thing to be done. Meanwhile I bought the second B6 3.5S by fluke from a Alpina Gemeinschaft collegue who also had two B6 3.5S. This No.2 was in original shape, never repainted and just used for more than 340tkm!!!!!!!! without any problem, the driver seat is just a little worn and stone hints and slight scratches cover the front area.
I moved to China and actually are living in Japan. That’s the reason why I decided to sell No. 29 to Mario Suarez, who promised to rebuilt it properly. I saw pics of his B10 Biturbo and had no doubts about it. I am regualry in Germany and use at the weekends my cars. But my special favorite is the B6 3.5S. Especially No. 29, it was much more direct and lively in comparisson to No. 2, but in the end i respect and i am more attracted to the charme of 340tkm, sorry. Anyhow it is fun to ride a B6 3.5S. My hometown is very close to the Nuerburgring and i am very often using the Eifel to let my cars out for a ride, but i never will be that crazy to compete at the Nuerburgring with crazy people in their Fiat Uno, Polo G40, Opel Manta, and so on. I just use my Golf 1 1.6l GTI My. 1976 from Time to Time for that during some Club activities, where i can trust my oponents.
At my last visit to Germany in Oktober 2007 i used the B6 3.5S and my Alpina B11 4.0 only for long distance rides between Stuttgart and Cologne. 367km in about 2hours and 15 minutes at night time (without endangering my drivers license by breaching German traffic law!), totally relaxed and easy in the B6 3.5S by 15l/100km and about 2h and 10minutes by 17.8l/100km with the B11 4.0, i just want to demonstrate that these cars are more or less grand tourismo cars and the B6 3.5S can not be compared to the sporty E30 M3, because the heavy cast iron on the front axis steals a lot af agility.
Now in Japan i wondered to experience, that more or less half of the 62 produced B6 3.5S were sold to Japan. But from my own experience i can fully agree to the opinion of others that any car in the hand of Japanese collectors might be waste of it, but on the other hand: these guys do not balk to spend as much money as necessary to ask somebody to take out these hars once a year and just change all fluids, tires, brakes and so on. Even without using them. On a private BMW meeting i saw pictures from a friend where 4 B6 3.5S, 7 E24 B7 Turbo and 5 E28 B7 Turbo, etc. in amazing good conditions meet. But we do not have any clou about a Alpina Club or there owners. I just know one dealer around Tokyo which is offering a B7 from 1987 with just 9tkm.
After all these wonderfull experinces with Alpina 6 Zylinder engines, i am now also addicted to another Alpina car and engine since i worked for it more than 2 years: The actual B7 (B5, B6). Wonderful, definitely one of my upcoming favorites.
So enough for now, if you need further information, please do not hesitate to ask. I try to take better pictures next time.
Thank you very much.”

mentioned by owner Alpina_Liebhaber on m5board.com 2/2008:
“Dear all,
yes it is right, i will sell my B6 3.5S No.2!
I am living already 4 Years abroad in China before and now moved half a year ago to Tokyo for more than 5 Years. Actually I do not have the time anymore to be so often in Germany, and even worse my father is sick and my brother also will move far away from my home. Therfore i will sell my cars i collected in the past 20 Years:
1. Golf 1 GTI Pirelli My. 1983
2. Audi Urquattro MY. 1981 (with cable driven differential lock)
3. Oettinger T3 WBX 6 Carat
4. Alpina B6 3.5S No. 2
5. Alpina B11 4.0
6. Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Cabrio
I just will keep an Alpina B6 3.5 Sedan, Porsche 964 Speedster.
What is so funny? I intended to keep the B6S but than i decided that i enjoyed him so much and it will be waste to just park him in a garage. You might think I am crazy to sell this car and keep the normal B6 3.5. But the truth is, that my personal history is bound to the normal B6 3.5 .
I never offered the car somewhere in particular just mentioned it, and the virus just spread itself. I got so many unexpected private messages!
To give you some more information:
My Alpina B6 3.5S No.2 is a former car from an Alpina Gemeinschaft member (he also has another B6 3.5S), I bought it in 2003 and sold my Yellow no 29 in 2007. The No. 2 has now around 360000km, was never rebuilt and is in very good shape, Whenever i came home from China it was my pleasure to use it.
Since i have had it, no damage or unplanned work shop stop was necessary.
It is coloured in Alpina Blue metallic with blue Alpina Alcantara interieour. Equipped: (see attached original Alpina “Auslieferungsbescheinigung”) with Klima, Sunroof, electrical windows, everything is original except the radio, it was replaced by an Alpine CD radio.
As stated before, the car is well mainatined, in technical and optical very good shape.
What is not so nice?: there is a little rost at the bottom of the rear right fender, a scar in the sunroof, scratches at the front wing and some stone hints, the driver seat has the typical damage at the left rear side bolster.
What might happen?: I have an very good offer from a dealer in Tokyo, he will buy this car for a amazing amount of 5.5 million Yen including, transport, taxes, customs, insurance and repair in Germany of the complaint items.
I should take it, but to be ownest this all might take up to 2-3month and i am not really a friend of sending again a car away from Europe, which basically should stay there, were it really can be used (for example German Autobahn!). Please do not misunderstand me, i am a very big fan of Japan and love to be here, but not with an car which should have the possibility to let run, and not stuck in Traffic jam and limitted to max. 120km/h.
My Time is very limitted, so please understand my situation and please excuse so less M5 messageboard attaendance.
Best wishes from Japan.”

Posted by Rainer Witt on alpina-forum.de 5/2008:
“Oder nehmen wir die letzte Anschaffung: Ein E30 B6 3.5S für 22 TEUR. 21 Jahre alt, total verschlissene Innenausstattung (dafür ruft Buchloe 4.500 EUR auf), 360.000 km gelaufen.
