\nAfter years (literally) of dipping in and out of wanting an Alpina, today I finally got one. I always thought I’d get a B10 but as is always the way, something popped up local and so I rang up this morning, went and had a look and struck a deal, drove away this afternoon. I am a serial car buyer so can spot a good one when I see it and also took a BM\/Alp geek with me to keep me in check. It’s not perfect, but the bits and bobs that need doing are well within my means and I used that effectively for haggling. The car in question is a E46 B3S Coupe, no. 27 in Alpina blue with black leather. Rare enough, but rarer still in prefacelift guise – I checked the stats and only 10 imported in 2002 so doubt I’ll be falling over them. Its been well looked after and I really am very happy with it.

\nThe car has all the booklets and original Alpina documentation pack, including the service book stamped all from BMW dealers except one Oil Service which was at a BMW specialist. The last service was an Inspection 1 at 85K miles by Chandlers Brighton. The service book is a replacement from 2006, but the previous owner made enquiries and confirmed that the first two services were carried out at Sytner Leicester (30\/4\/2004 and 19\/5\/2005) and although they are not able to provide details (old database), it is consistent with Oil Service and Inspection 1 respectively. The next service is an oil service due in 3000 miles.
