Alpina never modified the engine – it striped, redesigned and rebuilt them. The C2 got a new, longer throw crankshaft to increase the capacity of the ETA block to2693cc; the cylinder head was re worked with larger valves, while Mahle pistons were used with a different shape to the crown raising compression from 9.7:1 to 10.2:1. to improve engine breathing, a tubular six branch manifold and a new exhaust system completed the engine package along with an uprated ECU, Alpina worked their magic on the suspension to adding stiffer springs and Bilsten telescopic gas dampers to both the front and rear.
I actually have the original build sheet from the factory, other extras include: long range fuel tank, limited slip differential, factory de chrome, leather recaro interior, rear head restraints, electric sunroof.
With 210 bhp on tap this car really does have BMWs legendary silken wallop, and is most brutal past 4000 RPM all the way up to a top speed of 140 MPH. This C2 has led a very pampered life and it shows both internally and externally. The bodywork has an almost glass like finish from top to bottom and is virtually flawless. The interior of this car is a very special place to be, all seat surfaces are in superb order throughout, both recaro seat mechanisms work perfectly and look superb, even the cigarette lighter and astray are unused.
The car drives without fault with no nasty knocks or rattles whatsoever, all electrics work perfectly and the steering and suspension are both tight and firm, all fluid levels are clean and fresh, and replaced on a regular basis, all four alloy wheels are in excellent condition with no kerbing whatsoever and are shod with excellent tyres all round, thousands recently spent on engine overhaul and new custom brake discs and pads. Comes with a huge history file spanning over 23 years, also included is the original manufacturers hand pack and books, currently MOTd until February of next year, very rare and very collectable, number plate available by separate negotiation.

for sale pistonheads.co.uk 9/2015
148000miles, £10000
BMW E30 Alpina c2 2.7
Lachssilber
2 door
Manual
Black leather
148k miles
Registered 1 August 1987 – pre facelift. #0515
• Built by Mark Adkin at Sytner Nottingham (stamps on engine block etc).
• Build sheet states extras: LSD, dechroming, electric sunroof, electric mirrors, brown tinted glass, leather seats, rear central armrest, extended petrol tank, PAS
• Additional equipment includes Kenwood stereo system, Avital Max Cat 1 alarm.
• Car underwent a restoration in 2013 with all the key areas of bodywork, undercarriage and mechanicals attended to. List is too long to state here.
• 2 new rear tyres; refurbished original alloys, with spare
• Interior is tidy generally with no tears, marks, broken items but the headliner is very mottled and there is a split in the dashboard
I have a full decal pack (decals not Alpina stripes) which I have not put on the car.
Bodywork generally in good condition with no rust in the typical areas but there are some limited instances of corrosion (e.g. spot on rear bumper, inside drivers door). The car was undersealed as part of restoration having been treated beforehand.
The car is far from perfect for the following reasons:
• Needs a new exhaust, preferably a stainless steel custom. Reluctant to install one as everyone has different preferences – mine would be for a quiet one
• Electric sunroof mechanism does not work
• The car gets little use so it may require a service
• History has some aspects dating back to 1987 e.g. original service book, but even though I have a box file the history is not complete
I have only driven the car short distances recently and it drives very well with no knock or rattles, however I am selling as I do not use it enough.
This is a drivers car not a collector’s item and being nearly 30 years old with nearly 150k miles is not perfect.
The car is currently SORNed. MOT done in Sept 2015. 4 previous owners
£10,000 – no offers below this please. No PX. No canvassers etc.
Whatsapp / call 07957485174 if interested.
