First of all, thank you very much for the flowers and , in deed a B6 3.5S has something mystical. In living appreciating the Alpina Mythos the B6 3.5S caught me. I was never interested in Alpinas before or after the E30 E32 or E34, especially the E30. I have had C1 2.3, B3 2.7, B6 2.8, B6 3.5, B6 3.6S. The first B6 3.5S was No.29, i bought it from a Turkish guy in Mannheim which more or less raped the B6S with lowered 60mm KW springs, 9Jx16″ wheels, partly 9J/10Jx18″ wheels, 280mm steering wheel, black covered side and rear windows, painted from original grey to turquoise and later to shiny ferrari yellow, than somebody broke into the car and: the rear seats, the Alpina Digital VDO Amatures, Alpina Gear stick knob were stolen and finally the car have had a little accident on the front left side in winter. I bought this car, repaired and rebuilt it so far, except the colour, this would habve been the next thing to be done. Meanwhile I bought the second B6 3.5S by fluke from a Alpina Gemeinschaft collegue who also had two B6 3.5S. This No.2 was in original shape, never repainted and just used for more than 340tkm!!!!!!!! without any problem, the driver seat is just a little worn and stone hints and slight scratches cover the front area.
I moved to China and actually are living in Japan. That’s the reason why I decided to sell No. 29 to Mario Suarez, who promised to rebuilt it properly. I saw pics of his B10 Biturbo and had no doubts about it. I am regualry in Germany and use at the weekends my cars. But my special favorite is the B6 3.5S. Especially No. 29, it was much more direct and lively in comparisson to No. 2, but in the end i respect and i am more attracted to the charme of 340tkm, sorry. Anyhow it is fun to ride a B6 3.5S. My hometown is very close to the Nuerburgring and i am very often using the Eifel to let my cars out for a ride, but i never will be that crazy to compete at the Nuerburgring with crazy people in their Fiat Uno, Polo G40, Opel Manta, and so on. I just use my Golf 1 1.6l GTI My. 1976 from Time to Time for that during some Club activities, where i can trust my oponents.
At my last visit to Germany in Oktober 2007 i used the B6 3.5S and my Alpina B11 4.0 only for long distance rides between Stuttgart and Cologne. 367km in about 2hours and 15 minutes at night time (without endangering my drivers license by breaching German traffic law!), totally relaxed and easy in the B6 3.5S by 15l/100km and about 2h and 10minutes by 17.8l/100km with the B11 4.0, i just want to demonstrate that these cars are more or less grand tourismo cars and the B6 3.5S can not be compared to the sporty E30 M3, because the heavy cast iron on the front axis steals a lot af agility.
Now in Japan i wondered to experience, that more or less half of the 62 produced B6 3.5S were sold to Japan. But from my own experience i can fully agree to the opinion of others that any car in the hand of Japanese collectors might be waste of it, but on the other hand: these guys do not balk to spend as much money as necessary to ask somebody to take out these hars once a year and just change all fluids, tires, brakes and so on. Even without using them. On a private BMW meeting i saw pictures from a friend where 4 B6 3.5S, 7 E24 B7 Turbo and 5 E28 B7 Turbo, etc. in amazing good conditions meet. But we do not have any clou about a Alpina Club or there owners. I just know one dealer around Tokyo which is offering a B7 from 1987 with just 9tkm.
After all these wonderfull experinces with Alpina 6 Zylinder engines, i am now also addicted to another Alpina car and engine since i worked for it more than 2 years: The actual B7 (B5, B6). Wonderful, definitely one of my upcoming favorites.
So enough for now, if you need further information, please do not hesitate to ask. I try to take better pictures next time.”

Mentioned by Rainer Witt on alpina-forum.de 2/2008:
“Der Verkäufer hatte seinerzeit auch den gelben B6s verkauft, der für irgendetwas um die 17 TEUR nach Spanien gegangen ist.
