The 323i power plant was removed and a fully custom Alpina engine , which is made up of an e28 525eta lump with the reworked Alpina head. The engine produced 185bhp and you had a top speed of 141mph. I have the best part of 25 years worth of receipts , invoices and various coraspondence from Sytner to the previous owners. Also there is a letter explaining what they did in the conversion and comfirming that the car is a genuine C2. As you can see with the pic of the build plaque that the car is number 0306 which goes to show how early this type of Alpina was.
OK onto the good and bad bits. I have owned this car for just under three years and over that time I have put a few thousand into it each time ( I have paperwork backing this up ) Mechanically there is very little left that needs doing , the main issues are the cold air slide ( controls the mixture ) the alternatore needs a new mounting bracket , the cooling systems could use some new hoses but nothing drastic but the car is running marginally warmer than normal but never goes into the final 1/4 let alone the red, and finally there is a snapped stud in the manifold, but once the engine is warm there is no blow and the car has plenty of grunt.”
danallnatt @ ebay.co.uk
+44 7595 733865

for sale ebay.co.uk 9/2013
236000miles, £bid
For sale, My very rare Alpina C2 2,5. not to be confused with the lesser c2,5 this is the full fat version that differs from a 2.7 in only cylinder capacity and head design. 4 digit stamps present on both cylinder head and block confirming authenticity.

When i bought this car it was silver and had been featured so in Total BMW magazine. However the body needed tidying so a little while later and with new outer sills, wheel arches, bonnet, front wings and metal front valance I finally had the car together. At this point I decided id rather Alpina Blue colour so set to paint it as such. In the mean time I had the alpine alloys powder coated and bought new genuine badges and caps. I then stumbled across a thread listing Alpina pinstripes and after much discussion with the very tolerant vendor decided on Gold. Happy with the outside of the car (she doesn’t look brand new but still very presentable) I went on to the interior. I managed to find some matching Houndstooth cloth from Holland and got a pair of recaro seats trimmed in, although not perfect they are useable and presentable. I had the steering wheel re trimmed with the stitching in alpina colours. Plaque number is 0306 and I have a letter confirming authenticity as well as a lot if receipts.

Mechanically the car was good when I bought her, but during the rebuild I fitted the larger radiator from an S.A domestic car as well as an oil cooler. She has a new K n oil and air filters, Ignition control module and a six branch manifold (not all Uk cars had them). She runs pretty good, but slightly ticking from the top end (never bothered me as she goes well) I also believe she runs rich. I have fitted new lower arms and M3 eccentric bushes, adjustable top mounts and new springs.
willtrinder
oakliegh house part lane
swallowfield
reading
Berkshire
RG71TB
United Kingdom

for sale ebay.co.uk 11/2013:
236000mileage, £6100 (vor Auktionsende)
For sale, My very rare Alpina C2 2,5. not to be confused with the lesser c2,5 this is the full fat version that differs from a 2.7 in only cylinder capacity and head design. 4 digit stamps present on both cylinder head and block confirming authenticity.
When i bought this car it was silver and had been featured so in Total BMW magazine. This car comes up on vehicle searches as a 323i. All C2 2.5 where based upon 323is as they where alpinas response in upgrading from the c1 2,3 as the standard 323i became 150bhp. When the 325i came on to the scene, the 2.5 engine evolved using the later 325i parts into the 2.7. As in the pictures you can see the 323i genes in the rocker cover design as well as the metal airbox and the special bespoke alpina throttle body and rubber intake hose (stamped alpina)
I also neglected to mention that she has had new front brake callipers and braided brake lines all round.
willtrinder on ebay
reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom
oakliegh house part lane
swallowfield, reading
Berkshire RG71TB

Still registered 11/2016

1/10/1985 for sale ebay.co.uk 4/2011: 236000miles, £4500 “The car started life as a 323i and was delivered to Sytners of Nottingham.
